    Hi, I saw your review of the SlimQ 240 watt. Based on what I see here with the Framework 180 watt, it seems to be better, for one thing, for having all the safety certifications, I am guessing. I actually bought the SlimQ-240, and it has not given me any problems for like 2 years or more. My laptop have these specifications of 19.5 volts and 9.23 Amps, which is basically 180 watts. But one odd thing with the SlimQ-240 when I first tried to power my laptop was that it did get hot. That maybe happened 2 to 3 times right at the beginning. BUT from then on, it has remained very stable, temperature wise. I got the SlimQ right when it got released, I believe. BUT what I like about the Framework 180 watt, is that dimension wise, it is a bit smaller than the SlimQ-240, also weighs a bit less.The only thing lacking for this Framework 180 watts is a DC barrel. BUT I found online that there is a Type-C to DC barrel adapter. SO, I am planning on getting this Framework 180, because it has more safety certifications and is a bit smaller in size and weight as the SlimQ-240.

    i've always gone out of my way to use apple adapters and cables, at @3:00 i heard you say "apple is recommending third party chargers."" i am hesitant to try this, but i want a lightweight but decently powerful adapter to charge my m1 macbook pro when im outside of my home or office. I hate lugging around the big power adapters, and when i use very small ones, the computer will just stay where the battery levels at, seldom will it actually gain charge. I just want a super portable, yet powerful [enough] adapter that will be comfortable in a backpack or computer sleeve. if you can give me any recommendations, i would really appreciate it.

    Are there really no viable 65W-ish 3-port chargers? I wanted something lightweight for travel to power a laptop, or a fer smaller devices overnight. The 100W Anker A2343's weight and form factor would make it easily fall out of worn plane sockets, and the Baseus 100W GaN3 desktop charger doesn't have a detachable cable which makes it bulkier and heavier to pack.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 3 дні тому

      Yeah, I end up wrapping the cable around the seat to get the anker to stay in plane sockets, but weight wise, most 65's are in the same range. True on the Baseus I don't travel with that most of the time. The minix or invzi or one of the 100's of clones seem fine for plane travel and general travel needs, they do work for USB charging needs. It's hard to pick a winner for 65W they really all perform the same.

    • @pgupti
      @pgupti 3 дні тому

      Gotcha, thanks for the reply. Are there no good GaN charging ICs in that wattage range to build a good charger around? Or is the volume in that category too low for companies to care to compete?

  • @brennan2007
    @brennan2007 4 дні тому

    I mean, these are kinda crap chargers and overpriced. IDK why this would spark any interest or people would care? I dont know a single person who has ever even been exited about anything from ikea. 45w is really low for 2 ports, and you can get a 65w for the same price or even less Amazon. And with an extra USB A port on it. Nothing against your video, it's a quality video. Its just that the charger it's about kinda sucks, and isn't that great of a deal. Last "tech" thing I got from Ikea was rechargeable AA batteries, and they were overpriced garbage. Probably the worst AAs I've ever used, and almost weightless.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 3 дні тому

      You can get some sketchy cheap chargers on amazon. I have a whole video on those. The difference here is they have proper safety ratings and are actually built better than the price point suggests, yeah, performance wise they are not anything special though so you are correct. Not sure about the other Ikea products, the lamps I know they started good, then they got cheap and dropped the safety mark, now they explode sometimes. Interesting on the batteries.

    Can you do a video showing the power cost savings of a variety of chargers? For instance, how much money would you save if you charged 3000mah for a phone every day for a year assuming $0.18/kwh using a 30w Pixel charger vs a 65w Ugreen charger vs that Baseus 100w charger? Edit: Or savings charging a laptop.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace 3 дні тому

      As long as it is within reason the power supply should be able to handle it. In most cases phones are reducing the incoming voltage so as long as the voltage doesn't fall below that point or exceed maximum ratings I don't expect there to be a problem. This would be some crazy unstable power supply though.

      I'm not sure, it starts to get into that territory of stressing the battery. It's why these were good, they didn't really ask too much from the battery just for the sake of marketing. It looks like this company has also fallen to the 'make watt number bigger rule' with the newer power banks. I do have some of them here to test but haven't yet.
